I overuse parentheses, too.
When was the first time you figured out what money actually was? The concept, the fact that there are salaries, the fact that we work for this money, the actual value of money? Because I’m trying to recall when it first dawned on me that money was an important part of life (well, to be honest I still don’t think I truly understand how money works and if it is really that important). Or I’m trying to even remember the first time my mom gave me a dollar and I was like what is this strange leaf you have given me?
Is it somehow telling of my intelligence or maturity that I simply just don’t remember?I think it means I’ve been spoiled cause I never had to be worried that I’d have no money but I’m incredibly cautious with money so I don’t think that’s it, either.
I’m so confused right now and I’m abusing this tumblr app I have discovered on my phone
Update:
I just returned from babysitting two children. At one point in the night they looked at me and asked for 200 dollars. I laughed and gave them a toy car and told them it was worth that much. They stared at me, wide eyed and just said
“No, Really. 200 Dollars. We want real money”
It was frightening. Perhaps they’ll grow up being better with money than I am. I think asking your babysitter to pay YOU is a serious step up in the money game.
